HYROX Age Group Classifications: Ensuring Fair and Inclusive Competition
HYROX is committed to providing a competitive and inclusive environment for athletes of all ages and abilities. To ensure fairness across its global events, HYROX divisions are segmented into clearly defined age groups. These classifications allow athletes to compete against others within a similar age range, contributing to equitable performance comparisons and global rankings.
Individual Division Age Groups
The individual competition is divided into eleven distinct age groups, allowing for precise categorisation and fair competition across all adult age ranges:
16–24
25–29
30–34
35–39
40–44
45–49
50–54
55–59
60–64
65–69 (Note: This is the oldest age group within the Pro Division)
70+
These divisions ensure that younger and older athletes alike can challenge themselves against their peers while remaining part of the larger HYROX global rankings system.
Doubles Division Age Groups
In the doubles competition, where two athletes compete together and share the physical workload, age groups are determined based on the average age of both team members. This system promotes balanced competition and encourages strategic pairings. The age groupings are as follows:
16–29
30–39
40–49
50–59
60–70+
Relay Division Age Groups
The Relay division, where four athletes complete the HYROX course as a team, is divided into two broader age brackets:
16–39
40+
These simplified categories reflect the team-based nature of the event while still ensuring age-appropriate competition.
